Feds spent $3.7M on 16 staff to review pandemic ad campaign

Sixteen staff including behavioural scientists were paid up to $3.7 million by the Privy Council Office to review a $120 pandemic ad campaign promoting measures like handwashing, according to Blacklock’s Reporter.In the Annual Report On Government Of Canada Advertising Activities presented to the Commons government operations committee, authorities said the scientists input was vital.“It will ensure all Canadians receive the information they need to stay healthy, and support campaigns that provide information on economic support to both businesses and individuals during this time of crisis,” said the report.Other staff were identified as “dedicated resources in the digital communications, public opinion research and advertising teams.”The pandemic ad spending is more than d...
