The 47th annual festival, the first held in-person since before the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature 16 villages showcasing world cultures at locations across Windsor and in Leamington and Colchester.

“We’re extremely excited to go back to the festivals and events we’ve grown up with, the ones we mark on the calendar every year,” said Fred Francis, executive director of the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County.

The festival is hosted by the Multicultural Council, in partnership with many of Windsor’s cultural communities.

Windsorites can check out the villages and entertainment, spread across the city, free of charge this weekend and next, while food and beverages from each cultural village will be available for purchase.

Organizers said they’re hoping for a huge turnout over the course of the festival, noting they were encouraged by the community’s support for Art in the Park earlier this month — which drew a record-breaking 40,000 people.

The inaugural Carrousel of Nations was a three-day craft and food festival in 1974 that has since grown to include the participation of Windsor’s many cultural groups showcasing food, music and dance. It’s widely considered a cornerstone of Windsor’s summer festival season.

Each village has unique opening hours and dates, so visitors are encouraged to plan accordingly and check online before heading out. Information, including an interactive map, can be found online at carrouselofnations.com.

Online you can also find a complete list of villages and their unique entertainment schedules, parking and menu details.

Carrousel of Nations will run Friday through Sunday, June 17 to 19, and June 24 to 26.
