Canadiens' Nick Suzuki selected to play in the NHL All-Star Game

Heading into Thursday night’s game against the Blackhawks, Suzuki led the Canadiens in scoring with seven goals and 12 assists in 35 games.

Nick Suzuki will represent the Canadiens at NHL All-Star Weekend, February 4-6 in Las Vegas. It will be the first All-Star appearance for Suzuki, who leads the team in scoring with 19 points, including seven goals.

He was one of 10 players named to the Atlantic Division team captained by Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews, who will make his fourth All-Star appearance.

There is the possibility of a second player from Montreal in Las Vegas. Tyler Toffoli has been selected for the Last Men In vote, which allows fans to choose the 11th player on each of the four division teams. Voting is now open and will run through Monday night.

The other captains selected by fan vote are Colorado avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon (C), Washington left wing Alex Ovechkin (Metropolitan) and Edmonton oilers center Connor McDavid (Pacific).

Sidney Crosby, who has dealt with injuries this season, was not among the players named.
