Call the Midwife Summary: Could Death Claim Two of Nonnatus?

this Sunday call the midwife It started out like any other installment of the PBS drama.

Sister Hilda led the morning meeting for the midwives and noted that Nurse Nancy seemed concerned about the news of the 1967 Abortion Act. While all staff members praised the law for eventually saving lives, Sister Hilda simply he wanted Nurse Nancy to focus. She talked to Sister Julienne about it and the two came up with a plan to give Nurse Nancy more responsibilities.

Nurse Nancy was supposed to lead the morning meeting soon after, but she fell asleep. So Sister Julienne decided to take Nurse Nancy to a midwifery conference in Chelmsford with her and Dr. Turner. Nurse Shelagh was supposed to leave before Tim came home sick from school with mononucleosis and needed care.

Nurse Nancy was initially unenthusiastic about the conference because it would be held on a Saturday and that is the day she normally spends with her daughter Colette. However, after talking with Sister Hilda and giving it some thought, Nurse Nancy was convinced and excited to further her professional knowledge.

Call the midwife, the sisters and NancySister Hilda also felt bad that the working mom had to choose between her career and motherhood, so she offered to cover Nurse Nancy’s Sunday shift so she could spend the day with Colette. Nurse Nancy, Dr. Turner, and Sister Julienne had a great time at the conference learning about the future of epidurals and suction devices, and happily discussed work on the train ride home.

Lionel Corbett, the husband of Edina Corbett, sister Hilda’s pregnant symphysis pubis patient, was operating the train. Everything was going fine until he had some sort of seizure and lost control. Lionel failed to stop at a red light and a second train ran into the side of his train shortly after.

Nurse Nancy, who had gotten up to use the ladies’ room, was slightly injured during the collision. Sister Julienne and Dr. Turner were much less lucky and the shock shook them violently. At the end of the episode, it was unclear how badly injured the two were (and everyone in their wagon) and which of them had survived.

Call the midwife, Fred BuckleThe people of Poplar also suffered injuries because the train derailed on an elevated bridge. Cyril and Nurse Lucille were having a church service and one of her parishioners, Mrs. Wallace, was hit in the eye with a piece of glass. Others suffered minor cuts and bruises and most of them were taken to Nonnatus House with the help of Fred, Lucille, Cyril and Matthew.

Sister Monica Joan grimaced and worried that the raven, who had visited her once again, was to blame for the disaster. Meanwhile, Tim was probably worried that his discussion with his father, Dr. Turner, would be his final conversation. And Sister Frances was still in the hospital with Carole, the pregnant teenager. Carole, who already had a son, prematurely gave birth to a girl. And that baby didn’t seem to be breathing.
