BMV and Biva fall before the Fed’s monetary policy announcement


The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) operates with losses this Wednesday morning. The local stock market falls for the second consecutive day, one day after the end of the corporate reporting season, and while the market awaits the monetary policy announcement of the Federal Reserve.

The reference index of the Mexican market, the S&P/BMV IPCwhich groups the 35 most traded shares, also with capitalization criteria, yields -0.83% to 50,645.20 units, while the index FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), loses -0.81% with a level of 1,049.33 units.

Within the reference index, most of the components operate at a loss, with 26 values ​​in red and nine in green. The worst performances so far this day are those of the Grupo Bimbo bakery, which lost -4.77% to 59.09 pesos, and Grupo Televisa Unit, with -3.10% to a level of 37.16 pesos.
