BMV and Biva fall after two days of increases; await announcement from Banxico


The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) loses in its first trading on Thursday. The local stock market falls back after two consecutive days of moderate gains, while investors prepare for the monetary policy announcement of the Banxicolater this day.

The index reference S&P/BMV IPC, made up of the 35 most liquid stocks in the country, lost -0.56% and stood at a level of 49,000.39 points. The index FTSE BIVAthe main one for Institutional Stock Market (Biva), falls -0.54% this morning and stands at 1,015.43 units.

Within the reference index, most of the components operate at a loss, with 19 stocks in negative territory and 16 in positive territory. The worst performances have the BMV Groupwith -5.84%; Volariswith -2.34%; BanBajíowith -2.30%, and the airport GAPwhich falls -2.19 percent.
