The stock exchanges of Mexico closed the negotiations this Monday with a strong gain, due to opportunity purchases. Local stock indices extended Friday’s rally from a low not seen since March last year.
The index S&P/BMV IPC of the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), with the 35 most traded shares in Mexico, rose 1.16% to a level of 48,294.83 units. The FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Market (Biva), gained 1.14% and closed at 1,000.41 points.
Within the leading index, most of the components closed in positive territory, with 27 values in green and eight in red. The best behaviors were the Bimbo papers, with 3.37%; Inbursa, with 3.34%, and Peñoles, with 2.78 percent.
Outside the reference index, Axtel’s jump of 7.5% to 1.72 pesos stood out after its parent company, the Alfa conglomerate, announced that it plans to spin it off from its business.
