The Bloc leader Yves-Francois Blanchet took part on Friday evening in the 350th weekly vigil in support of Raif Badawi in Sherbrooke.
This blogger has been imprisoned in Saudi Arabia since 2012 when his family took refuge in the city of Estrie.
Mr. Badawi’s wife, Ensaf Haidar, is the Bloc candidate in that constituency for these elections.
Mr. Blanchet asks each of the federal parties to commit to granting Canadian citizenship to Mr. Badawi, to facilitate his release and repatriation.
