British Columbia Deputy Prime Minister Mike Farnworth explained on Saturday why the province has chosen to place a 10-day restriction on gas consumption of 30 liters per visit, and said the province must ensure that emergency vehicles can get gasoline when needed. He said talks are underway with officials south of the border to supply gas by barge, but that it could take about three days to reach the province.
