Barcelona partners ratify sponsorship contract with Spotify


The sponsorship agreement between the FC Barcelona and online music listening platform spotify, announced on March 15 by the Catalan club, it was ratified by an absolute majority this Sunday by the club’s compromising members.

For this first online scrutiny in the history of the Catalan club, 901 of the 4,478 member representatives connected to participate in the vote. Of these, 625 approved the agreement with Spotify, 49 voted against it, and 27 voted blank. The agreement was therefore ratified by an absolute majority.

No figure was officially revealed, out of respect for the confidentiality clause agreed with the Swedish giant of streaming audio, but according to the Catalan press, the total amount of the agreement rises to 435 million euros (480.6 million dollars).

In exchange, Spotify will be able to put its name on the match shirts of the men’s and women’s teams until 2026 (240 million euros, 265 million dollars), on the training shirts until 2025 (15 million euros, 16.5 million dollars). , at Camp Nou Stadium until 2026 (20 million euros, 22 million dollars), and has an option for the next eight seasons (2026-2034) for 160 million euros (176.7 million dollars).

“This agreement exceeds, in terms of economic figures, any sponsorship agreement that Barça has had in its entire history and, thus, it becomes one of the best in world sport”, said the president Joan Laporta in the extraordinary general assembly of this Sunday.

The Swedish company will also be able to benefit from other advantages, according to the Catalan press, such as the creation of a summer tournament in its name, sponsorship of the shirts of the lower teams, VIP places for the barca matchesand you will be able to place your name in the press room, in the mixed zone, on the benches and behind the goals.

The current sponsor of the men’s first team, the Japanese giant of the e-commerce Rakutensees his contract with the club expire on June 30, as does the DIY tool company Stanley with the feminine.
