Banjercito evaluates building a new corporate tower

The increase in activities in the current administration and the age of its facilities (more than 50 years) have forced the National Bank of the Army, Air Force and Navy (Banjercito) to analyze the construction of new corporate facilities in Mexico City, therefore that it will have 139.2 million pesos to carry out the pre-investment studies required for that purpose.

In addition to the internal services offered by the bank, the personnel assigned to the majority state-owned company Grupo Aeroportuario, Ferroviario and Auxiliary Services Olmeca-Maya-Mexica, since the Banjercito owns 1% of the shareholding (the remaining 99% is held by the Sedena).

The institution has a similar participation in the companies: Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), Chetumal International Airport (Cuna del Mestizaje), Palenque International Airport (Señor Pakal), Tulum International Airport (Zamá) and Tren Maya, therefore It will also add personnel for its operation.

In 2019, the Banjercito workforce was 886 command and operational employees, which increased to 956 the following year and to 1,026 in 2021.

“With the incorporation of the National Guard (GN), an average growth of 11% in the workforce is expected in future years at least, due to the incorporation of new elements from the three armed forces (Secretariat of National Defense, Secretary of the Navy and GN), considering 130 to 150 positions per year, until reaching the optimal size of the workforce to efficiently serve the armed forces, for which the current corporate is estimated to be obsolete in terms of space and conditions soon (2023)” , it was informed.

Labor conditions

Among the arguments for the new corporate headquarters, it was mentioned that in various areas of the current building there are overcrowding problems and employees must share places or improvise them, as a result of the limited space available to carry out activities. This is because in recent years there has been a growth in branches, operations and customers.

“In order to determine the best option to solve the problem that arises and carry out an analysis of alternatives that determine the best solution, it is necessary to have information resulting from a socioeconomic analysis that guarantees the greatest social profitability, taking into account the principles of austerity. and efficiency in the exercise of public spending”, detailed the bank.

Among the studies that must be carried out this year are: cost-benefit analysis, legal and formalization of the legal figure under which the land for the property will be obtained (loan or donation by Sedena for 20 years or more), environmental, soil mechanics, topographic survey and executive project.
