With a route between the capital of the state of Oaxaca and Mexico City, the German brand made the national launch of the new Audi Q5 Sportback, its medium-size suv and sports design, which is manufactured in Mexico to supply the local market as well as to the whole world except China.
Explosive
Its shapes, according to the brand, are “aimed at customers who not only appreciate expressive design and technological innovation, but also sporty character and versatility for everyday use.” The lines that make up its body are inspired by the coupe-type vehicles with a long hood, the continuous drop of the roof, smaller windows and, as a characteristic point, two doors.
In the case of the Q5 Sportback, its mission as a functional vehicle allows it to evolve towards 5 doors, a second row with good space and a usable trunk that reaches 1,480 liters of cargo volume with the second row folded down. This adaptation is accompanied by elements appropriate by Audi such as the Singleframe grill, standard led lights, Matrix led technology as an option, digital Oled rear lights that can be configured in one of three options.
In terms of its dimensions, it has a length of 4,689 millimeters (7 mm longer than the Q5), 1,610 millimeters in height (2 mm lower than Q5), and a width that ranges from 1,893 mm to 1,940 mm according to the outer package. Audi Q5 Sportback is offered in the Select, Elite, Sline and SQ5 versions.
Total comfort
With everything and that the roof drops decidedly towards the rear there are no height problems in the second row. The quality of materials and their combinations correspond to Audi’s premium level. Customers can choose from nine seat tone and texture options that are paired with wood, piano black and matte aluminum dash inserts while on the SQ5 level the inserts are carbon fiber.
The Audi Virtual Cockpit is 12.3 ”, color and configurable. It is accompanied by a screen in the center console called MMI Touch 10.1 ”that is also in color and that the touch-sensitive screen replaces the central knob that occupied space between the seats. The equipment includes the Bang & Olufsen audio system as an option, but as standard others such as Audi phone box, Audi Connect Car2X Safety & Service, infotainment services, smartphone interface and MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch.
Mechanical upgrade
The range of engines is new and consists of two: 2 liters, TFSI, 4 cylinders with 249 hp, Mild Hybrid, and the most powerful, 3 liters, TFSI with 354 hp. Traction in all cases is quattro. The 2-liter TFSI engines are associated with a 7-speed S tronic transmission while the 3-liter TFSI with an 8-speed Tiptronic.
