Attraction of investments boosts logistics industry in Querétaro: Canacar


Queretaro, Qro. Given the dynamics of attracting investments to the state, the entity could be forged as a national logistics node, explained the national president of the National Chamber of Freight Transportation (Canacar), Jose Ramon Medrano Ibarra.

The central entity, he stressed, has positioned itself as a benchmark in investment projects, as well as in the development of industrial clusterswhich affects the performance of the logistics industry.

“Endorse the commitment of our institution to consolidate Querétaro as a national logistics node, we know that investments are attracted in the entity, new industrial clusters are developed. Queretaro has gained recognition in aeronautics”, he explained.

In this sense, he referred that it is necessary to strengthen freight transport as an essential sector to improve the logistics competitiveness both state and country.

According to the leader of Canacarthrough the Centro-Bajío corridor, where Querétaro is located, transits almost 90% of the merchandise that moves in the country.

Both in the region and specifically in the state, the chamber has set itself the goal of reinventing the trucking industrywith the purpose of influencing the economic reactivation, he added.

“In the Bajío region and particularly in Queretaro the mission is very clear: the freight trucking industry must reinvent itself to remain the basis for reactivation and prosperity, the areas of opportunity are not minor. The vision is to continue building alliances to be more efficient, from national to foreign merchandise”, he explained.

However, he stressed that it is necessary to generate public policies that guarantee a balance between the various users of communication routes, in order to facilitate the land transport of both people and goods.

Faced with the restrictions that exist in the state capital for the mobility of the Freight transportthe leader of the chamber stressed that the carriers will not pay municipal or state charges to transit through the country, because they already comply with federal permits.

“We circulate on the highways of the country with federal permits, we are not going to pay municipal permits nor are we going to pay state permits in any part of the Republic,” he stated.

He stressed that the industry requires road infrastructuresigns and rest centers for operators, among other points.

“Freight transport does not need regulations or permits to circulate, load and unload, on the contrary, our industry requires highway infrastructure, ramps, signs, tolls and above all rest centers for our accessible operators that guarantee decent spaces and guarded,” he said.

Regarding the road infrastructure of the entity, Queretaro It is located on the highway that connects the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico with Nuevo Laredo in the South-North and East-West directions, states the State Economic Yearbook, issued by the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).

The document points out that the entity is located in the intermediate part that links the Gulf of Mexico with the Pacific, which gives it a preponderant role in development strategies and links with large markets.

The state road network is made up of 3,146.7 kilometers of roads and highways, with 31 highways.

It is estimated that in Querétaro the logistics industry contributes 10% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), in addition to generating 15,000 jobs, according to the state government.
