At least five dead in an intentional run over during a parade in the US

An accident during a Christmas parade in the state of Wisconsin, in the United States, has caused the killed at least five people and injured more than 40, several of them minors, according to the police authorities of the city of Waukesha.

The city’s chief of police, Dan Thompson, confirmed in a press conference that several of the run over in this incident they were children and he also announced that there were “several” deceased, although he did not want to give more details because, as he explained, they are notifying the victims’ families of the deaths.

Police have located the vehicle and detained one person so far, but no further details were given because the investigation remains open.

According to Thompson, the vehicle, a red SUV (light off-road) he ran over more than twenty people on his way.

He also explained that an agent fired at the car, unloading his weapon, in vain to try to stop him. None of the shots caused injuries, he said.
