It may not sound exciting to say that the big selling points of a new condo project are its concrete construction and four stories. But start thinking in terms of getting all the benefits of concrete tower construction in a sophisticated boutique building of just 34 to 35 units, packed with amenities, situated on a quiet, tree-lined street in Vancouver, and the appeal is obvious. , especially for those who are downsizing in the neighborhood.

“That alone really sets it apart because if you want to be in a boutique environment, you don’t love the idea of skyscrapers and you want a certain type of house, there aren’t many options. “It’s very unique,” explains Barrett Sprowson, vice president of project sales and marketing at Peterson Group, the developer of the Ashleigh Oakridge Projectwhich will be made up of three buildings when completed.

Two of the three buildings, Berkley and Alma, will be built first, followed by Cambridge. Each will have its own curb appeal, but all are designed to blend into the neighborhood, hence the plan to maintain existing trees. The wellness amenities of sauna, steam room, hot and cold pools and fully equipped gym are centrally located at Berkley for use by all residents. All three buildings have their own rooftop amenities that offer an indoor-outdoor flow from a spacious co-working and entertaining space to patio for lounging, dining, fire pits, community gardens and children’s play area.

The home interiors, which Sprowson said offer generous, well-designed floor plans, feature numerous elevated design details that complement a classic aesthetic. His personal favorite is the pot filler on the kitchen gas stove. “You don’t come across that a lot of times, and there’s a little feature that’s handy and useful and helpful, but it’s also complicated and expensive to implement,” he says.

The interior design team at Ste. Marie Studio framed their overall concept around the idea of a classic style accented with avant-garde design touches.

“We looked at it through the lens of a single-family home and wanted it to feel really timeless,” says Craig Stanghetta, founder and creative director of Ste. Studio Maria. “We don’t want you to feel like you don’t have any risk. “There is a bit of risk in terms of some brushed metal details.”

Her use of a bold marble for the kitchen backsplashes creates a dramatic visual statement, but while eye-catching, the pattern is a classic marble, not a heavily veined one, and one that would look at home in a Paris apartment or house. New York brownstone, Stanghetta. observe. In larger homes, they have used it to wrap the islands. “They become an important feature, but in some of these others, we use the manufactured stone in those areas and let the backsplash be the big design gesture,” Stanghetta says.

In smaller units where the backsplashes are marble but quartz is used on the counter and island surfaces, the team introduced a dining table and island combination that works for multiple uses (kitchen prep, office at home or dining room) and the generous wall bench. The storage available in the L-shaped configuration allowed for this unique island style.

“I think we just recognized that sometimes people prioritize different things, and if you’re in a bedroom living scenario, then we want the flexibility to choose your own adventure with that piece of furniture,” explains Stanghetta.

The appliance package is Miele and features built-in coffee makers, gas ranges, express ovens, wall ovens and, in some units, wine refrigerators. There are also elegant lighting over the islands and open shelving to personalize the space. Sprowson notes that full-height pantries also increase the functionality of kitchens, and while they’re expected when downsizing from a single-family home, they’re often not an option in condo living.

“It’s also amazing cuisine. “If you look at the marble backsplash and the marble countertop with the waterfall edge, you have all the functionality, but it is also, dare I say, very pretty to look at,” he says.

When completed, each building at Ashleigh Oakridge will have rooftop amenities including an entertainment and co-working space, lounging patio, dining room, fire pit, community gardens and children's play area.

The bathrooms reflect that same combination of functionality and sophisticated style, with details like flattering light fixtures and wall-mounted toilets. Stanghetta says the floating shelf under the medicine cabinet creates a “nice balance between highly functional storage, but then these clean lines that also give you a more designed and realized space.”

He notes that the double vanities in the larger bathrooms have an oversized countertop, a beautiful detail that matches the timeless design concept: attention to detail that will last. Combining timelessness with contemporary accents creates interiors that reflect the overall vision of the project.

The development is ideally situated to allow residents to be at the center of everything whilst enjoying a peaceful location.

“This is a viable option for anyone who wants concrete, a good amount of space, decent amenities, all the walkability and proximity to Oakridge and all the cool things that are in the Cambie corridor,” Stanghetta notes.
