An alleged heavily armed drug trafficker was put out of harm’s way on Wednesday in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on the west island of Montreal.
A total of four firearms – including a submachine gun – were seized in the police strike.
The police also got their hands on 42 kg of cannabis. The resale value of the drugs seized is approximately $100,000.
Ammunition, methamphetamine and Viagra tablets, as well as a sum of money of nearly $7,000 were also seized during the operation.
On the spot, the police arrested a 50-year-old man and a 72-year-old man who was with him.
The duo was scheduled to appear Thursday at the Montreal courthouse on multiple narcotics and firearms charges.
