Another aircraft from the Secretary of the Navy crashes; it is the second event in less than a week


A training aircraft Secretary of the Navy (Semar) It crashed today at the Los Mochis International Airport, Sinaloa, with no human losses recorded so far.

The Secretary of the Navy explained that a plane zlinbelonging to the Naval Aviation Schoolcollapsed at said airport during takeoff maneuvers bound for Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

In said aircraft of the Navy of Mexico two naval elements were transported, which suffered injuries that do not put their lives at risk and receive the corresponding medical attention; the Secretary of the Navy said that there was no damage to third parties.

The unit indicated that the corresponding investigations will be carried out to determine the causes that could cause the accident of said aircraft, which is used in the training of naval pilots.

“The Secretary of the Navy-Navy of Mexico regrets the accident and will provide the necessary medical attention to the naval elements, reiterating the commitment to continue with the training of naval aircraft pilots to fulfill the missions entrusted to them,” he mentioned.

On April 26, another Navy aircraft crashed at the Mazatlán International Airport, Sinaloa. An MI-17 helicopter of the Mexican Navy suffered an accident during the takeoff maneuver from the aerodrome to the refueling area, and collapsed on the spot.

Five naval elements were traveling in the helicopter, who suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

The accident of said aircraft of the Mexican Navy, which was used to support the fight against forest fires in the state of Sonora, occurred when it was on its way to the Naval Air Base of Veracruz.
