Fireball Rainbow, a band for girls living with autism, received sensational news Tuesday night. Thanks to an anonymous donor, the band will attend the sold-out Billie Eilish show at the Bell Center in February.
“I’m so excited,” said Kayla Patak, a member of the band. “I’m going to dance all night and have a lot of fun.”
Music therapist Alison Usher-Jones shared the good news with the girls in her weekly session on December 14. The six members present were all smiles, cheers, and one even leapt into the air in celebration.
They then danced around the music therapy room with none other than their favorite artist, Billie Eilish.
“I want to thank you and whoever you are, you are amazing and kind,” Patak said.
Usher-Jones said the donor, who chose to remain anonymous, was one of several people who contacted her after the Global News story about her request for tickets to the sold-out show.

“I was overwhelmed, in the first place, by the number of people that came out. And then when I got the news from this anonymous person who made this donation, I literally thought it must have been a scam because it was that amazing, ”Usher-Jones said.
Fireball Rainbow will receive twelve tickets, two more than originally requested. This accommodates all girls, including adolescents who need additional supervision.
The band led by Westmount Music Therapy is a program for girls with autism to express their emotions and connect with each other.
The group of friends have been together for five years and now that they are teenagers they can’t get enough of 19-year-old Billie Eilish. They dance to her songs at the end of each session and look at her as a role model because she shows them that being different is okay.
“This will be the best night of their lives,” Usher-Jones said.
