ANAHEIM—Three things you need to know about the Blue Jays’ 11-10 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, securing their first series sweep of the year and stretching their win streak to a season-high five games:

The Jays entered the eighth inning trailing by a run until Bo Bichette sent a shot to center field for the game-tying solo home run. It was Bichette’s seventh homer of the season and first on the road since Sept. 21, 2021 at Baltimore. The Jays weren’t done there. Alejandro Kirk followed with a double, later coming around to score when Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit one of his own. Gurriel had a pair of hits and five RBIs, raising his average to .238.

Charlie Montoyo’s squad also rallied from three runs down in the seventh thanks to an assist from the Angels. Their pitching staff walked three in the inning, including two with the bases loaded, while Raimel Tapia chipped in with a dribbling RBI single up the middle. The Jays finished 7-for-17 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base. They have scored 35 runs over their last five games. The bats, slowly but surely, are starting to heat up.
Sho-time
After Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went deep in the series opener, the reigning American League MVP wasn’t about to be outdone. The Angels’ Shohei Ohtani began the finale with a solo homer in the first off José Berríos. Two innings later, he did it all over again, this time with a two-run shot to center. For Ohtani, it was his third multi-homer game of the season and first since May 9 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Berríos didn’t make it out of the third inning and was charged with six runs on six hits and a walk. It was the third time in his last five starts that he’d allowed at least five runs and his ERA now sits at 5.62, last among Jays starters.
