An even more “biting” second season for the comedy “Happiness”

It was an open secret: the comedy “Le bonheur” will return for a second season on TVA next January and the author François Avard promises an even more “biting” sequel.

A real popular success, the millionaire series (confirmed figures from Numeris show an average of 1.9 million viewers during the first episode on January 5) will therefore continue beyond the conclusion of the first version, broadcast this Wednesday.

The author François Avard, who signs the texts with Daniel Gagnon, told Agence QMI that he intends to pay the bill since there has been no “raising of shields” regarding the tone and to the topics discussed so far.

“We are going to go further, even much further in the biting. There were no big reactions on what we did, so, devil, we say to ourselves that we have to go further because what we always hope for is [brasser] the world,” he said, revealing that the first three episodes of the sequel are already written.

“The world is capable of taking a lot more than we think. Can we still say everything in humor? I think so! We are looking for a lot of business that we could not say for us, to say them. We could fall into vulgarity, but we try to shock more with social phenomena. […] We want to shock by what is said and not by what we show. Shock with reflections, the world around us, wokism, racism, diversity, more than in gratuitous vulgarity.

François (Michel Charette) and Mélanie (Sandrine Bisson) have big decisions to make regarding their future in Wednesday’s final. Their life has become a real hell since François left his teaching job to go live in the countryside, imposing this project on his sweetheart and their son Étienne (Sam-Éloi Girard), addicted to social networks.

And since it was the inconvenient mother-in-law Carole (Louise Bombardier) who financed the purchase of the family farmhouse, called the basin, she had to be repaid.

François Avard said that the couple will stay in the countryside where “he will sink even deeper” into his nightmare devoid of tranquility. François and Mélanie indeed live near a very smelly pigsty, on land where Hydro-Québec has a right of way (including their toilets and their fridge!) and where ATVs and ski-doos make their engines sound like hell. better.

All the main characters will be back, including plotter Jocelyn (Guillaume Cyr) as well as François’ former colleagues at school, such as Serge (Laurent Paquin), Daniel (François Chénier), Éric (Marc Fournier) or Judith (Marie-Joanne Boucher).

“There are characters who normally would not return, but we loved them so much that they will be back,” said the author, speaking in particular of the frankly funny real estate broker Karol-Ann Lapoynte-St-Jacques (Monika Pilon), who will inherit a more generous score. Karol-Ann was even hired by Patrick Huard when his condo at “La Tour” was put up for sale, thus crossing into another TVA show. The buyer that Karol-Ann will find will succeed Patrick at the helm of this daily meeting dedicated to frank and open discussions.

Produced by Aetios Productions, in collaboration with TVA and Quebecor Content, the comedy “Le bonheur” is broadcast every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. The conclusion of the first season takes place this evening.
