An American taxi driver refuses to take racist passengers in a viral video. the internet calls him a hero

A Pennsylvania man is being considered a hero for calling a man and woman racist. James W. Bode, a Lyft driver, confronted two racist passengers who had booked a ride with him on Friday, May 13. The entire episode was captured on Bode’s dashcam.

In the now-viral video, a woman named Jackie can be seen getting into the cab after James arrived at the scene outside Fossils Last Stand, Pennsylvania bar. After exchanging a few jokes with the taxi driver, she said, “Wow, you’re like a white man.” At this, James had a raised eyebrow expression. He said, “Excuse me?” “Are you like a normal guy? Do you speak English?” the woman answered and patted him on the shoulders.

James was not happy with the woman’s comments and asked her to get out of the car immediately as he was going to cancel the trip. “That’s completely inappropriate. If someone wasn’t white, sitting in this seat, what difference would it make?” “, she said. The woman was completely shocked after what she heard. When she was a little perplexed, the man who was with her intervened. He begins to verbally abuse Bode and also threatens to physically assault him.

James Bode shared the video on Facebook on May 14 and it has received a lot of attention online ever since. “This happened tonight outside of Fossils Last Stand, on Race St in Catasauqua. The trip was for a “Jackie”… When she was asked if they owned her, she shook her head, but who knows. A police report was filed (only due to the threat of assault) not sure if that will do anything…if it makes me feel uncomfortable I will absolutely do the same, especially to my car or property. Yes they noticed I was recording, yes I have posts in my car indicating such (sic),” James wrote, sharing the video.

The internet praised the taxi driver for taking a stand against racist passengers. “In case anyone doesn’t understand when people say “silence implies consent”, this is a perfect example! Had he chosen to take the ride and remain silent, the racists would have assumed he was like them. That’s why we have to talk every time. We can’t allow any safe space (sic),” one user wrote in support of James.

“This guy showed what it means to not only not be racist but to be anti-racist (sic),” another user wrote.
