AMLO, chain man of the den of history

Among others, one of the reasons why I voted for Andrés Manuel López Obrador on July 1, 2018, was because I was confident that, as he had promised in his campaign, he was going to jail the corrupt, including the former president. Peña Nieto and his gang of predators of the nation. Unfortunately it has not been so. And because of what López Obrador said last Thursday, it will not be.

After on Monday he dogmatized that those opposition deputies to the 4T who voted against the electrical reform were traitors to the Homeland. After Tuesday stigmatized them as reprobate creditors to the hell of history; Two days later, the Lord of the Palace, with his infinite power, canonized their immoral leader at the patriotic altar: Enrique Peña Nieto.

Don’t ask me how because I can’t explain it. I cannot clarify how, in the course of just two days, the Lord who removes and adds, the Man who says who and how, made a 180-degree turn: On the same morning that he declared “we come from a popular movement , I am a sympathizer of Hidalgo, Morelos, Juárez, Villa and Zapata, and Flores Magón and Madero and Lázaro Cárdenas”, in that same morning homily in which he also praised former President Adolfo López Mateos —he read part of his message when he nationalized the electricity industry—he stated that he had “consideration and respect” for former president Peña Nieto (how!) “because unlike Calderón and Fox and others, he did not get involved in the election” (in the 2018 ).

As the man from Tabasco has repeated more than once that “his chest is not a cellar” he let go by saying: “I have information that the machuchones, those who felt they were the owners of Mexico, looked for him (Peña Nieto) to get together, like now, against me during the campaign. First they offered him that they were in charge of putting Meade aside and that the only candidate —that job that Claudio X González later did— was Anaya so that, if they all got together —and Fox and everyone participated in that, Salinas—against me they could prevent me from winning the presidency again, and I have information that President Peña did not accept.” And just because of that, for carrying out one of his obligations, for fulfilling one of the mandates to which he was obliged by the Constitution that he swore to fulfill and to enforce, he earned the respect and consideration of his successor from whom we expected the opposite, that is That is to say, that without a desire for revenge —which is not his thing— he would apply justice against corruption, one of whose greatest historical exponents have been Peña Nieto and his gang.

Of that gang, the only one who is locked up is Emilio Lozoya. There is also the woman Peña told him one day not to worry: Rosario Robles. Although Rosario is not exactly a member of the gang, she is locked up so that it is known that the López Obrador government acts with gender equality.

After the heroic names that the president pronounced on Thursday, to add —not to the list, but to the talk— that of Enrique Peña Nieto, I imagined the bouncer of the den of history, the one who determines who enters and who does not. : “You, the one with the pompadour, should not enter because you are neoliberal and corrupt, but I like you because you gave me the tip to recognize that 30 million voters voted for me.”

Final point

If AMLO wants to reward Peña Nieto for having respected the 30 million votes he obtained, I know of a place that was recently vacated so that they can build a monument there, how about the Glorieta de la Palma?
