President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Saturday morning that next Tuesday, December 7, the booster vaccination will begin against Covid-19 for adults over 65 in the country.
The president assured that all this is for the winter season, “Always with a pandemic or without a pandemic in the winter, older people suffer more,” said the head of the Executive at a press conference from the State of Mexico.
AMLO also ruled out that with the Omicron variant there is a rebound in the pandemic in the country; however, he reiterated that the vaccination plan will be reinforced.
The Health Secretary confirmed this Friday the first positive case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant in Mexico, in a 51-year-old person from South Africa who voluntarily admitted to a private hospital in Mexico City.
To date, in our country the circulation of the variants of concern, called Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omicron.
