AMLO announces investigation in Mexico linked to the death of 50 migrants in Texas


President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador today expressed his condolences to relatives of the 50 migrants, including 22 Mexicans, who suffocated to death inside a trailer box in San Antonio, Texas. He announced that there will be an investigation in Mexico for crimes of which they could be victims in national territory, such as human trafficking.

During his morning conference at the National Palace, López Obrador also announced that the immigration issue will be one of the most important issues that he will address next July 12 in a meeting he will hold with the president of the United States, Joe Biden.

So far there are 50 deceased; 22 from Mexico, seven from Guatemala, two from Honduras and 19 still without information on their nationality.

Condemns political use of migrants
