The directors of the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA) and the Mexican Association of Automotive Dealers (AMDA) warned that the presence of this act in the carts and the assault is increasing in recent months, so the corresponding authorities have already been reported to take action on the matter.
“Yes (we have) a report from the associates (of the AMIA), there has been an incidence of theft and vandalism of godmothers (vehicles that transport about 15 new cars) in different roads and highways. We have begun to take up the issue again,” said Fausto Cuevas, director of the AMIA.
He specified that the marks agglutinated in the AMIA They are collecting information about it, but the reports obtained, is that it is still in the area of the Shallowsspecifically in Guanajuato and on the borders with Michoacán and Jalisco, is where they have had additional incidents.
“Meetings have already been held with the Canacar (National Chamber of Freight Transportation) as with the National Guard and the Department of Public Security to take the necessary measures, and reverse the growth in rates of theft and vandalism” in the industry, said Fausto Cuevas.
But, he said, as we find operations by the authorities, these incidents are moving from place to place and we are identifying where the incidence of robbery of godmothers is growing.
On his occasion, the president of the AMDAGuillermo Rosales, maintained that there are also assaults on the transporting godmothers, which affect the operation of the distributors because they are stolen vehicles that no longer reach their final destination for sale.
“What we observe is the robbery assault on vehicles for wheeled transportation, that is, those that are sold by a distributor and are delivered to clients or between distributors. The area is in the Bajío and the robbery of a godmother and transfer robberies ”, he pointed out.
Although he commented that the coordination work with the National Guard is already being carried out, so that the cameras and associations can mitigate the scourge. “We hope that the coordination in the following months will have favorable indicators,” Rosales confided.
