Queen’s University says the vast majority of students and staff say they are fully vaccinated.

According to a statement from the school sent Monday, 96 percent of employees and 94 percent of students say they have received both doses of their COVID-19 vaccines.

“More than 6,000 members of the Queen’s community declared their immunization status this week, bringing the total number of students and employees to more than 32,200,” the school said.

So far, 1.4 percent of students and 1.1 percent of employees have declared not to be vaccinated. About 5 percent of students and 3 percent of staff say they are partially vaccinated, Queen says.

Queen’s University implemented a mandatory immunization policy in late August. The policy requires that everyone visiting the campus be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The university gave staff and students until Monday to answer whether they are vaccinated with at least their first dose via a completed online form. This must be done before they are allowed on campus. They were also able to show proof of vaccination through the online form.

The final deadline to show proof of both doses is October 15, the university says.

“After October 15, people who have not received the last required dose of vaccine or who have not received an accommodation approved under the Ontario Human Rights Code will not be able to participate in university activities in person,” the university said Monday. .

The school said it will provide updated numbers later in the week once school officials analyze all the responses given on Monday.
