Aid for Ukrainian refugees: a first Air Canada charter flight to Warsaw on Wednesday


Air Canada announced Wednesday the organization of a humanitarian charter cargo flight to Poland to help Ukrainian refugees fleeing their country at war.

The air carrier will carry out the humanitarian aid flight in coordination with the company Airlink, and the organizations Project CURE and GlobalMedic.

The cargo flight operated by a Boeing 787-9 will bring medical equipment donated by Airlink and Project CURE, including hospital beds and vinyl mattresses.

For its part, the organization GlobalMedic based in Toronto will transport medical supplies for the Lyiv hospital in Ukraine, Air Canada said in a press release.

The Air Canada charter flight will depart from Toronto Pearson Airport for Warsaw at 8:45 p.m., it was added.
