Aeroméxico announces that it will fly from the Santa Lucía airport starting in April


Aeromexico announced this Wednesday morning that it will start operations from Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) with routes to Mérida and Villahermosa, starting in April, joining VivaAerobus and Volaris, which will inaugurate the terminal.

“We are very pleased with this announcement because, thanks to the efforts of all of us who make up Aeromexico Groupwe are in the final stage of a deep process of restructuring and transformation that will allow us to emerge stronger and make decisions like this for the benefit of the connectivity of our country, the service to our clients and the generation of jobs”, said its director, Andres Conesa.

In a press release it was reported that the decision to fly from the Santa Lucía airport is the result of analysis of the network, location and customer needs, as well as the use of the airport infrastructure in this terminal, which opens as a new air connectivity option to and from the center of the Mexican Republic.

Following confirmation from the two ultra-low-cost airlines, Volaris Y VivaAerobusto fly from the AIFA, Aeroméxico directors stated that the decision to join was still under business analysis and that, for the time being, they were going to consolidate their operations in the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), upon returning to the Terminal 1.

With the new routes, it was added, Aeromexico will be directly connecting the metropolitan area of ​​Mexico City with 43 national destinations under the highest standards of safety, health and hygiene.
