Six additional charges have been brought against a 28-year-old man charged with a stabbing attack that left a woman dead and six people injured in North Vancouver.

Yannick Bandaogo, already facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the March 27 stabbing wave at the Lynn Valley Library, was charged on September 16 with five counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated assault. .

A woman in her 20s was stabbed and killed, while six other people, between 22 and 78 years old, were also injured.

Bandaogo was arrested at the scene by several police officers while stabbing himself.

“This was a tragic incident that has shaken us all and we share the pain and outrage of families and the community. We want to recognize all the first responders and congratulate the civilians who cared for the injured, ”said the integrated homicide investigation team, Det. Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi said in a statement Wednesday.

Bandaogo is scheduled to appear in North Vancouver Provincial Court on October 7.

He also has a court date on October 6 in Port Coquitlam, where he was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer on May 6.
