Activision Blizzard, acquired by technology company Microsoft a few days ago, will introduce at least the following three video game installments Call of Duty for Play station.
According to four sources familiar with the deal, the creator of the well-known video game would have promised that the titles of the franchise launched during this 2022 would be available for the Sony console prior to the announcement of the acquisition.
It is expected that during this year the continuation of Modern Warfare, whose development is in the hands of Infinity Ward, as well as another title that Treyarch is working on. Both studios are owned by Activity.
To these projects a third party was added which would also be included in the agreement. This is a new installment of Call Of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-access cross-platform Battle Royale launched in 2020.
The CEO of Microsoft’s video game unit, Phil Spencer, stated a few days ago that the contractual agreement with the manufacturer of Play station behind the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
“I spoke to Sony executives this week. I have confirmed our intention to honor all existing agreements following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard and our desire to maintain Call of Duty on PlayStation. Sony is an important part of our industry and we value our relationship, ”Spencer posted on Twitter.
These statements came after Sony said it expects Microsoft to maintain the multiplatform format of video games developed and published by Activision Blizzard so that Playstation gamers can continue to use their titles.
According to sources consulted by Bloomberg, Microsoft would not just promise to get started Call Of Duty for PlayStation during 2022, but also in the coming year. However, the future of this game on the Sony console is still in the air.
