Civil Protection of the Generalitat has activated in Catalonia the special alert for strong winds, Vencat, by the forecast of Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) of gusts of wind especially during the morning of this Saturday in the regions of Penedès and Anoia.
The SMC expects that the wind will start during the early hours of Saturday and that it will increase until the afternoon of the same day, with a west component direction.
The gusts can exceed 72 kilometers per hour, affecting the entire coastal and pre-coastal area of Barcelona and Tarragona, as well as to points near the Lleida capital.
As of Sunday, and until Monday at noon, the wind will affect areas of the Pyrenees and Solsonés, already north, and also to some point of the Tarragona coast during the first half of Sunday.

Faced with these forecasts, Civil Protection has requested prudence in mobility and that all outdoor activity is avoided as much as possible.
He has also recommended taking extreme caution on the road: watch the distance to the side when there are strong gusts of wind, watch the path of the wind observing trees and bushes, and hold the steering wheel securely and tightly.
