Accident in Laval: a driver ejected from the vehicle he had just stolen

A driver was ejected from a vehicle he had just stolen after going off the road in Laval on Sunday morning.

It was around 5:25 a.m. that the police received a call about a car theft. Quickly, a second call was made to report an accident.

The owner of the stolen vehicle would have chased it and a collision between the two cars would have caused a loss of control.

“The driver of the stolen vehicle was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. He is in critical condition, but there is no fear for his life,” said Laval Police Department spokesperson Stéphanie Beshara.

Investigators should go on site to shed light on the events.

Montée Champagne north of boulevard Dagenais as well as boulevard Dagenais between rue Sauriol and rue Russell are closed in order to proceed with the investigation.
