A pruner electrocuted in Rimouski


A 73-year-old man from the Matane region lost his life on Tuesday after receiving an electric shock while doing pruning work in Rimouski.

The emergency services were called to intervene shortly after 9 a.m. behind a residence on Boulevard Arthur-Buies.

Investigators from the Commission for Standards, Equity, Health and Safety at Work (CNESST) were dispatched to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the accident.

The investigation is continuing, but there is no criminal element involved, according to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec.
