Ontario will re-introduce restrictions this week to mitigate the spread of the Omicron variant. Here’s a look at the latest public health measures, which go into effect Wednesday and are expected to remain in effect until at least January 26.

Meetings and services:

– The social gathering will be limited to five people indoors and 10 people outdoors

– Organized public events will be limited to five people inside.

– Indoor weddings, funerals and religious services, rites and ceremonies will be limited to 50% of the capacity of the room, while outdoor services will be limited to the number of people who can maintain two meters distance physical.

– Indoor meeting and event spaces must be closed with some exceptions, but outdoor spaces can be opened with restrictions

Schools and child care:

– All private and publicly funded schools will transition to remote learning starting Wednesday through at least January 17.

– Free child care will be provided for school-age health care children and other eligible frontline workers as long as the tilt is remote

– School buildings can be opened for emergency child care, instruction for students with special education needs who cannot be accommodated remotely, and for staff who cannot provide quality instruction from home.

Restaurants, bars and nightclubs:

– Restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments must close the indoor dining rooms.

– Takeout, food delivery, home delivery and cookout may continue with restrictions

– Alcohol sales will be restricted after 10 p.m. M., Like the consumption of alcohol in businesses or surroundings after 11 pm. M., With exemptions for delivery and takeout, supermarkets / convenience stores and other liquor stores.

– Personal care services may remain open at 50 percent capacity, with other restrictions in effect

Theaters, entertainment venues and other attractions:

– Indoor concert halls, theaters, cinemas and rehearsals will be closed.

– Recorded performances with restrictions will be allowed.

– Museums, galleries, zoos, science centers, monuments, historical sites, botanical gardens and similar attractions, amusement parks and water parks, fairs and tourist and guide services, rural exhibitions and festivals must be closed, but establishments in the air free can open with restrictions.

– Indoor horse racing tracks, car racing tracks and other similar places must be closed. Outdoor establishments can open with restrictions and with a spectator occupancy limited to 50 percent of their capacity.

– Boat excursions are allowed with a capacity limit of 50%.
