A massive outage from Rogers affected users across Canada on Friday, affecting phone, Internet and Interac services.
The company didn’t acknowledge the problem until just before 9 a.m. ET, leaving users in the dark for hours about when they could use their devices again.
The outage affected services across the country, including access to cell phones, 911 call centers, financial transactions and more.
Reports of the outage have accumulated in an outage tracking webpage — with complaints reaching from coast to coast.
More than 15,000 Rogers users in Toronto have filed a complaint, as have thousands in Montreal, Brampton and Ottawa. Hundreds of users from around the world, from Halifax, NS and Victoria BC, have also reported problems.
The outage is also reportedly affecting ATMs and interactive machines across the country, according to reports on social media.

Below is a list of known issues in the city related to the outage.
Most Interac services used for in-person and automated payments have been affected, including:
- Parking on public roads and municipal parking lots (impacts on paid parking through the Passport application)
- @hsr Ticket Office (located in the Go Centre) at 36 Hunter St.
- Community Recycling Centers – License Counter at City Hall
- Municipal Service Centers
- Recreation and Senior Centers
- Provincial Crime Administration
The city says alternative forms of payment such as credit card, check and cash are still accepted.

The city has asked residents who need answers about service access to contact Accessible Transportation Services at 905-529-1212.
GO Transit said that parts of its system were being affected by the outage.
The transit agency said fares cannot be purchased with debit or credit cards. Electronic tickets may also not be available.
“However, our contact center and transit security dispatch lines are fully functional to handle customer calls,” GO said.
Hamilton hospitals are not affected
Overall, the two Hamilton hospitals have not been affected by the service outage.
In a social media post, Hamilton Health Sciences revealed that they are using Bell’s services and anyone with an appointment scheduled should plan to attend.
Rogers customers calling 911
Hamilton Police and Niagara Regional Police are letting Rogers customers know that the outage may slow down connections for those who need 911.
