BMV and Biva trade erratic after holiday

The Mexican stock exchange (BMW) operates erratically this Tuesday, after an opening in negative territory. The stock market does not show clear direction after the long weekend, as investors watch closely the performance of Wall Street after US retail sales figures.

The benchmark index S&P/BMV IPC, made up of the shares of the 35 issuers with the highest value by capitalization and liquidity in Mexico, advanced 0.14% to a level of 51,379.48 units. The index FTSE BIVA, the main of the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), fell a slight -0.09% to a level of 1,059.73 points.

Within the benchmark, most components are losing, with 18 in red, 16 in green and one unchanged. Its worst values ​​so far this day are Volaris, with -2.10%; Walmex, with -1.40%, and Televisa, with -0.91%; earnings are led by Bimbo, which moves 2.69 percent.
