A fire in a house with two alarms in Calgary on Sunday left several people without a place to stay.

According to the Calgary Fire Department, the fire broke out around noon in the 8300 block of Center Street N.

The crews arrived at a single-family house completely submerged, with “strong winds pushing the flames towards a neighboring house,” CFD said.

Four people escaped from the main house, and two residents and their dog escaped exposure to the house next door, according to CFD. There were no injuries.

They are “being assessed and assisted by a fire investigator on the scene to determine needs.” CFD said in a press release.

CFD said the fire appears to have started at the rear of the house.

The cause is under investigation.
