A man in his 50s was in critical condition on Friday evening after an accident involving a train in Saint-Norbert.
Around 8:30 p.m., the MRC d’Autray was called about a collision between a train and a vehicle on route 347 in Saint-Norbert in Lanaudière.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the car swerved and ended up on the tracks. At the same time a train was traveling there and it hit the car. The 50-year-old driver is in critical condition and was transported to a hospital, according to Marythé Bolduc, spokesperson for the SQ. We would fear for his life.
“Alcohol may have played a role in the accident,” she added.
