402 Westbound Lane Crash Causes Major West London Closure: Middlesex OPP – London | The Canadian News

All westbound lanes are closed on Highway 402 near Colonel Talbot Road in London Ont., After a transport truck carrying gasoline capsized.

All westbound traffic is being diverted as the closure is expected to last 15 to 18 hours through Thursday, according to the Middlesex County OPP report.

The accident occurred shortly before 2 pm with several emergency crews responding to the scene.

Police say the truck, which was traveling in the eastbound lane, crossed into the westbound lanes of 402 and rolled over.

The truck was carrying 40,000 liters of gasoline, some of which leaked before firefighters could contain the spill, police say.

Cleanup is underway and the Ministry of the Environment has been contacted.

The driver of the transport truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has now been taken to hospital.

The investigation is still in its early stages and more details will be provided as they become available.
