America’s First Lady Jill Biden wore a jacket with the word Love stamped on the back when she and her husband, Joe Biden, met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife, Carrie, on the afternoon of this Thursday.
The first lady’s jacket was quickly compared to the one worn by her predecessor, Melania Trump, three years ago.
“I really don’t care, do u?” (I don’t really care) read on the jacket worn by former first lady Melania Trump during a surprise trip to Texas to speak with children and officials at a migrant youth shelter.
At the time, Melania’s wardrobe choice sparked a firestorm of debate over the meaning of the phrase. However, when he was in front of the children, he appeared without the jacket.
When Jill Biden was asked about her jacket, the first lady told reporters: “I think we are bringing love from America.”
“This is a world conference and we are trying to bring unity around the world (…) And I think it is necessary at this time, that people feel a sense of unity of all countries and have a sense of hope after this year of pandemic ”.
