(Quebec) Quebec’s objectives for vehicles with low greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are so loose that the large manufacturers could afford not to sell any electric vehicles by September 2022.
This is what emerges from the most recent report on the Act to increase the number of zero emission motor vehicles.
Clearly, manufacturers have sold enough vehicles, either hybrid or electric, to comply with the law.
They have already exceeded, by far, the number of “credits” they had to accumulate, according to the established calculation formula.
From what you read in the report, this raises the question of a potential tightening of the standard and an increase in the credit requirement.
