Police officer injured in a collision: the Sûreté du Québec is looking for witnesses

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is actively looking for witnesses to a collision in which one of its family was slightly injured, Saturday afternoon in the Hautes-Laurentides.

The driver, who also suffered only minor injuries, is identified, but the SQ still wants to meet witnesses in order to carry out its investigation.

Recall that the police had caught a blue Ford Mustang driving at great speed on Route 117 in Nominingue, near the Auberge Godard.

They had alerted their colleagues who were further down the road to stop the driver.

The SQ police did order the driver to stop, but he continued on his way as if nothing had happened.

Seeing that the runaway did not seem to want to slow down even if he was near a construction site near Rivière-Rouge, a police officer parked his patrol car in front of the construction zone in order to protect the workers.

The Mustang driver then attempted to bypass the police vehicle, but eventually collided with the automobile, slightly injuring the officer.

He finished his race in the ditch.

The SQ had explained Saturday, a few hours after the facts, that alcohol was probably not involved in this story.
