“Several systems should bring a few flakes, but the mercury should remain low enough to keep the snow on the ground,” said Dominic Martel, meteorologist for Environment Canada, in an interview with the QMI Agency. However, Sunday is likely to be a little rougher with a gust watch in the southwest of the province.

“Travel could be dangerous due to a sudden change in weather conditions. Visibility can be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” reads the advisory from the federal agency.

From Monday to Friday, two clippers from Alberta (one during the day Tuesday and the other Friday) should fly over the western part of the province and bring at most 10 cm of snow to Montreal, which will be the center of these small low-pressure systems, present in the sky for a short duration. “It will be the only two days where we will see a few snowflakes, the rest of the week will be clear until Saturday,” added Dominic Martel.

As for the temperature, the mercury should not stray too far from the seasonal normals of -1°C, recording temperatures varying between -2°C and -5°C. The only downside, the mercury should drop to -10°C for Monday and Thursday, so the scarf will be required for these two days.
