Given the national emergency situation experienced by women and children in Mexico, the National Shelter Network expressed its deep concern about the current status of the Support Program for Specialized Shelters for Women Victims of Gender Violence, their daughters and sons.
It was said that in the 2022 Federation Expenditure Budget, the Program’s budget item was labeled for 420 million 203,440 in the Welfare Secretariat.
However, with the intention of articulating first, second and third level services to prevent, address and eliminate violence, the Ministry of the Interior sought to transfer this program to Conavim, which was carried out just at the end of March, which which brought unfortunate delays in the PEF2022 release process.
Given this situation, Conavim reported that as an effect of the administrative and legal process, only for this fiscal year the period of execution of the expenditure will be limited, however, the entire budget approved for this program will be delivered in 2022.
“This resource will be sent to 73 shelters and 40 External Care Centers, which operate in various parts of the country.”
