Suspected Night Loiter in Toronto’s Leslieville Neighborhood Charged by Agents – Toronto | The Canadian News

Toronto police officers say they have made an arrest in connection with an investigation into a man they say was seen loitering in the city’s Leslieville neighborhood.

Police said a man allegedly attacked several homes in the Leslie Street and Dundas Street East area between May and October, trying to gain access during the night and early morning.

From time to time he was seen on a bicycle.

In an update released by the service on Tuesday, investigators said Gerard Silas Purcell, a 40-year-old Toronto resident, was arrested.

He was charged with several crimes, including four counts of attempted burglary, two counts of burglary at night, two counts of burglary at night, criminal harassment, assault and asphyxia by assault.

Purcell was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
