The investigation was launched after information was received from the public and thus far has seen two arrests made on Monday. Eight more arrests are expected to be carried out on Tuesday.

A series of raids carried out in April and in October 2020 saw 1,000 cannabis plants seized as well as 100 kilograms of various forms of cannabis. Police also seized 23 firearms and nearly $1 million in cash.

The SQ investigation was carried out in collaboration with Revenue Quebec and Health Canada.

Police warn the public that illegal cannabis rings provide the black market with revenue that can be used to finance other criminal activities.
