Premiere for Symphonic Harmonium — Stories Without Words tonight in Trois-Rivières

It’s a dream come true for me, for my team and I think the members of the Harmonium group, including Serge Fiori… it was done with respect, it was done with love and I think people will receive and will give back. It’s gonna be an amazing exchange that’s gonna happenexplained Nicolas Lemieux.

Until June 4, the Orchester symphonique de Trois-Rivières (OSTR), under the direction of Dina Gilbert, will perform the group’s instrumental album released in 2020 on stage. boards of the amphitheater.

In interview at Always in the morningthe producer had a little difficulty putting into words what the spectators will be entitled to.

It really is a story without words. Everyone will be able to make their own story, they will make connections with all sorts of elements in the life we have lived. That’s what’s fun, because we leave room for the music, for the imagination. It’s so many melodies and songs that we know, which are amplified. It’s amazing what synergy it gives.

This is the first show of the season to be presented at the Cogeco Amphitheater. A relaunch show after two years where business was disrupted due to the pandemic.

Two weeks of assembly were necessary to prepare the site for this show. We’re really proud of our site, we’ve improved a few more things, we’ve tweaked it, so it’s even more beautiful and it’s even warmer than it was even in 2019launched the general manager of the Trois-Rivières Events Corporation, Steve Dubé, at the microphone of the show Always in the morning.

With the presence of 64 musicians, 40 singers, including Luce Dufault and Kim Richardson, and acrobats, the stage will never have been so exploited in terms of space during an event, he continued.

An intriguing hole in the roof of the stage also appeared. We see that we are really in the universe of Harmonium. We have our own imagination when we listen to it, but also make our own story with everything that is staged. So, for us, there was still a good challenge to receive this production.

Another album soon?

Steve Dubé mentioned being very satisfied with ticket sales. Producer Nicolas Lemieux revealed that 90% of them found takers.

For us, it’s still daring what we’re doing this year. It’s two loss leaders, we have 50 shows on the schedule and so far according to our indicators, we are very happy with where we are this morning.said Mr. Dubé.

Moreover, Nicolas Lemieux is working on another symphonic show, this time on the work of painter Jean Paul Riopelle, in collaboration with Serge Fiori and Blair Thomson. This creation will be performed by the Orchester symphonique de Montréal.

It is not impossible that this show will stop in Trois-Rivières next year, according to Mr. Lemieux. We think about it, we’re not there yet, […] but yes it will be a possibility. I think the Riopelle family gave a big gift to Serge Fiori by authorizing the cover with this beautiful painting with this madness of Riopelle. I think it was Serge who decided to return the present to Mr. Riopelle for his centenary.

Nicolas Lemieux specifies that this is a completely different project from that of the Harmonium group.
