OHLA wins contract for Mexico-Toluca Train bridge

The Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) awarded OHLA and its subsidiary Constructora de Proyectos Viales de México the construction of a 200-meter double cantilever viaduct on section three of the Mexico-Toluca interurban train for an amount of 232 millions of pesos.

This work was not contemplated in the original project and will link the spring cable-stayed bridge of the National Water Commission (Conagua) with the Vasco de Quiroga station (which was integrated into the project during the current federal administration).

The economic proposal of the two companies where the largest shareholders are the Mexican brothers Luis and Mauricio Amodio (also owners of CAABSA, which builds most of section three) was the fourth lowest, the six received by the agency last four of November.

Among its competitors were: the alliance La Peninsular Compañía Constructora (with whom Constructora de Proyectos Viales de México, then a subsidiary of the Spanish OHL, joined to build section one of the aforementioned train, which is already finished) -GAMI, Jaguar Ingenieros Constructores, the IDINSA-Prodemex-Aldesem consortium, Citcocomex and Constructora Moyeda.

The winning companies will receive an advance of 30% of the total amount of the contract that must be signed on December 6 with the objective that the next day they start construction and finish it within a period of no more than 365 calendar days. To supervise the works, the SICT hired the Engineering and Construction team 3G-Técnicas specialized for construction.
