A 24-year-old man was stabbed and his attacker arrested in the Ahuntsic neighborhood of Montreal on Thursday morning.
The armed assault occurred around 4 a.m. in an apartment located on Fleury East Street, near St-Hubert Street, said Samuel Couture, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).
According to initial information, it seems that a conflict broke out between two people, before the suspect grabbed a bladed weapon to stab the victim at least once in the upper body.
The victim was conscious at the time of his transport to the hospital, said the police spokesman, adding that the suspect, a 24-year-old man, was arrested at the scene by the police.
The suspect was transported to the investigation center to be met by investigators, while a security perimeter was erected to protect the scene for the purposes of the investigation which is ongoing, it was added.
