Escobedo, NL. Mattel Inc, reported that with its manufacturing plant for Montoilocated in the municipality of Escobedo, consolidates the operations of the plants in Tijuana, Baja California and Montreal, Canada.
Global President and CEO of MattelYnon Kreiz, commented that the plant increased its staff from 1,500 workers in 2019 to 3,600 collaborators and the total investment in the Montoi plant between 2020 and 2022 is 1,000 million pesos.
“Montoi it is now Mattel’s largest manufacturing company in the world,” spanning more than 200,000 square meters, he said.

The company has a strategy of making focused investments that allow it to leverage its technological capacityreduce costs and improve productivity.

From this plant its products are exported to 30 countries.
The director assured that with this expansion of the plant they reaffirm their long-term presence in Mexico.
“Montoi plays a central role in rethinking Mattel’s global value chain, building a key plant in America that supports our strategy to grow as a high-performance toy company,” he emphasized.
He stressed that New Lion It has a strategic position in the north of the country, it has infrastructure and skilled labor. “This investment positions the state as a leading producer of the toy industry and we hope that it can attract many producers of raw materials to the region,” said the manager.

For his part, Iván Rivas Rodríguez, Secretary of Economy State indicated that around 5,000 jobs are generated in the state in this sector with a production value of 5,000 million pesos.
